WELCOME!

First of all, I would like to thank you for reading this and for being here, on the main page of this group, as well as for joining.
Now, as any group around here, I should get to the point where I explain all about our goals and rules.

Rule #1
Be polite and respect all members of the group.

Rule #2
Try to be as active as possible, because this will help your art get promoted. More people find out about the group, more people see your art.

Rule #3
Photos should have a decent quality.

Rule #4
Post your personal art. NOT ALL OF IT

Rule #5
Your work must be finished. No Work in Progress (WIPs).

Rule #6
Respect the group`s folders, and submit your work in the right ones.

Rule #7
Enjoy your stay!

If you have any questions, feel free to ask by sending us a note.

I feel that I need to make a new entry here seeing that we have some new users and the last entry is getting old. So I'm going to be restating old news and rules for our new users/members.

For the news, I'M THE ONLY ONE HERE, our founder :iconnefe123: has been offline for over 2 YEARS and other admins have ether left or have not logged on in some time.

With me being a co-founder, I do NOT have as much privileges as the founder and can not do as much. As I recall, I CAN NOT: make new galleries for member to submit to, make other members admins, give myself more privileges, or change the setting of the club.

I also like to note that, scenes I'm the only one here maintaining this club, it is taking my own time to do what I can for this club. I have a life so I won't be replying to anything right away (unless it is the right time).

With me being the only one checking the submissions, it goes upon me to check if they are allowed in our galleries.
Some of the submissions are tough to categorize (who remembers the blog about Sculpey).
A lot of them submit them to the Wood (default) gallery, reason is that they haven't submitted their works before.
Then I find member who didn't read our Welcome front page (Rule #4) and submit nearly their entire gallery, all of them grate works but no one wants to see a bunch of submissions from SculptorsClub only to find that over half of them are from the same artiest.

And here I'm going to state the rules and how they came to be.
#1)Be polite and respect all members of the group.
This should me human nature. If feel you need to say something, be shore that it's in a nice and polite way that won't offend them. And as such reply the same way back to people.

#2)Try to be as active as possible, because this will help your art get promoted. More people find out about the group, more people see your art.
This is the nature of ALL groups. Groups are like tags for you work, when someone finds something they like and see a group that has the same style/work/subject and go it and that's where your work comes in (we share watchers). Though you still have to be active so that your work doesn't get buried under all the other works.

#3)Photos should have a decent quality.
We got to be able to see certain details and know what we are looking at.

#4)Post your personal art. NOT ALL OF IT
We want to see thing that YOU have made. But that doesn't mean you should submit your entire gallery (THAT WHAT YOUR GALLERY IS FOR). If you submit your best works here, then people well see them and if they like it enough, then they'll go to your page and see more of YOUR work.
Also having to post a lot of work from the same artist for a group is annoying, unfair and unappealing.

#5)Your work must be finished. No Work in Progress (WIPs).
We don't want our galleries to be filled with unfinished works. BUT if is a project that will not be worked on any further then we will accept it. 'Dropped' projects can sometimes be art (unfired clay for ex.)

#6)Respect the group`s folders, and submit your work in the right ones.
New users tend to miss this one. As you're submitting there will be a little drop down window that'll list all our galleries right before you click the submit button. As for what works goes in what, pleas refer to this journal entry.

#7)Enjoy your stay!
We're all here to enjoy each others works and share our experiences. :)

(Wow this is a long entry, just about done)

That is about every thing that I wanted to cover, feel free to leave comments/notes as to how I am doing/things I could do/or just to say hi.

For now, I am done.

Hello, I'd suggest just finding pictures of work you like and for your first few tries, just trying to make that - it doesn't even need to be in clay, it can just be a drawing of something. Otherwise there are some great tutorials for beginner crafters. If you will be working in polymer clay, watch some videos on "skinner blends" and making small items out of standard shapes :)

Hope that helped.

Yes, you may join our group.:) A 3D sculpture is still a sculpture, they would go in the "Other Materials" folder.
